Gig Style Guide

Gig Style Guide

Your favourite band is in town next weekend, you bought your tickets weeks ago to avoid disappointment. You’ll be spending the evening with your friends. It’s going to be awesome, except, upon opening your closet (which if your anything like me is packed so full, no-one will ever know it’s the entrance to Narnia) but you still have absolutely nothing to wear!
Don’t stress, this guide is here to inspire you and help you plan that perfect outfit that will not only make you feel amazing but is totally practical for any gig shenanigans.
Depends very much on the gig; you may want to reconsider those killer heels you bought for the Beyonce concert in the summer, for a Foo Fighters gig in the winter! Sensible does not need to be boring.
So for a rock/indie gig you’ll be wanting to invest in a great pair of flats. Converse and Vans are both popular choices. Though being hobbit-like in size I like to wear a slight heel boot. (If your anything like me, you always seem to end up stood behind Hagrid!)

Fur lined boots are perfect for winter, they’ll keep your toes toasty warm at the same time as still looking super trendy for a gig! With a heel of just 3 inches they are still totally sensible for rocking out too!

MALICE LACE UP VELVET BOOTS- £29.99 – MISSGUIDED http://www.missguided.co.uk

Though these boots don’t have a heel, they are still perfect for winter gigs. Velvet is perfect for the festive season as well being in the style of the ultra-cool Doc Martens. Comfortable, practical and stylish these boots are a fantastic alternative to wearing hi-tops or heels.

Skinny jeans are super flattering and simple to style. However if you are after something a little more glam, then try a tartan skort, they look awesome with boots and band tees! This particulat one from Topshop is an absolute beaut!

Team with a band tee or slogan tee. You can always glam them up by adding your own favourite pieces of jewellery.

To keep you warm, a leather jacket is a must! I am loving the faux fur collar leather jackets seen across the high street this season. This beauty is one of my favourite’s of 2013
BLACK MONGOLIAN FUR COLLAR LEATHER JACKET -£190 – RIVER ISLAND http://www.riverisland.com

The most important advice for dressing for gigs is to be comfortable. There will be nothing worse than turning up to see a rocking band and spending the whole night feeling sub-conscious. Rocking out and having a good old boogie should be of the utmost importance for your night.
